Terms of Sale

When you buy something from a private person, you do not have the same protection as when you buy from a company. However, you may still have the right to complain about a faulty item. It is the Purchase Act that applies, but the law is not binding. This means that you and the seller can write your own agreement and make your own agreement that applies above the purchase law.

Keep this in mind when purchasing privately: It can be good to examine the product yourself before you decide whether you want to buy it. Always examine the product if you are asked to do so by the seller. Feel free to write an agreement that states what you have agreed on, including the price and the product condition.

You may have the right to complain about an item to the seller even if the seller has disclaimed responsibility for errors.
